Not true. Harris has as much natural talent as they do, his issues (as with most freshman) are in decision making. It's up to the coaches to have a system that gets the most out of the talent that they have, instead of trying to shoehorn QB's into their system. In the right system, I think even Jennings could be a capable QB. The system we run doesn't allow QB's to develop any kind of rhythm or cohesion. It's 30 runs, then random long developing passes sprinkled in.

I'm sure the coach as BH's interests at heart, but telling an 18 year old to transfer after not playing a bunch is FRESHMAN YEAR is inappropriate. Also, he should think of all the kids in his program that might be negatively affected if Miles decides to hold a grudge and not recruit through that high school anymore.

Please explain. I didn't see any progression throughout the season. When should we expect the light bulb to illuminate for this kid? 5 more starts?...10?...20?...his final game as a senior? It's time to move on.

Jennings played very poorly in 2014. And, I don't think his ceiling is very high. Having said that it would be a poor assumption to think that he won't get any better.

Also, Jennings' poor performance says absolutely nothing about how prepared/unprepared Harris was in 2014. Too many people assume that things would have been better in 2014 had Harris played. That's a bad assumption. The reason to play Harris in 2014 was all about 2015.

Another one hit the nail on the head!!! Upvote.... Harris wasn't ready to start for a major college Fb team, it wasn't Miles or Cam but his own teamates that said this a wanted Jennings as the starter and to let Harris mature in the system. You don't have to start to get better and be prepared. Sometimes this hurts the situation and kills the confidence of the QB, players, coaches, and fan base. Everyone need to back off of Harris and let the young man get ready to win some fb games. I'll say this now, next year LSU will NOT be blown out of any fb games bc Harris is that good. Yes Harris needs playing time and will get it next year once he is mentally ready and mature. It would be a freakn shame if this guy leaves LSU bc of selfish fans that know nothing about major CFB. This staff knows what they are doing and I can't freakn wait until they have Harris as the best QB in the conference or one of em. Yall don't realize what we have in Harris. He's very very very talented but hasn't been playing fb long. Much less major CFB. He needs to be totally prepared or as much as possible and he wasn't and thats coming from his own teamates and his own mouth!!! Next year will be Harris year and yea he will make mistakes but he will be able to make corrections unlike this year. A year makes a huge diff with these talented guys. CHILL

On the field production >>>>>>>> practice

Jennings wasn't getting it done whatsoever, even vs the horrific competition.

To Not allow Harris to redeem himself after a bad first start, was criminal.

Kyle Allen at atm looked shitty in his first start and he was at home vs a weak inferior team and they barely won.. But atm stuck with him and was on fire the next week.. They made their switch and stuck with their future and they are in better shape going forward. The more talented guy should eventually be on the field, especially after 3 losses.

JT Barrett at OSU as a RS Freshman had a horrific start early in the season at HOME vs a terrible VT team in which he threw 3 ints and they lost. He bounced back to have a heisman stat like season before his ultimate injury. Spare me the competition crap, the point is they got to redeem themselves. Harris never once did.

Miles has these quarterbacks so afraid to make a mistake it's like they have to walk on eggshells. They probably feel like they have to do too much when they are asked to do too little. All things equal then the more talented guy should see the field and be given the trust. We should be confident enough that if we make a mistake or turnover.. We should be confident to overcome come that and strike quickly based on talent.

Jennings accounted for 11 total TDs ALL season long. That is including the bowl game. 11! 11.. Total TDs.

Harris in very limited time accounted for 9 total TDs!! Only 2 less than a guy who played all season long.. Harris had like 3 rushing TDs where as Jennings had 0. Harris is far more effective in getting the team TDs when inside the redZone because he possesses a legit throwing and a legit rushing attack. He opened everything up for the offense, think about the time Harris lead LSU to 9 straight offensive TDs out of 10 possessions and the only non td drive ended on a Hail Mary attempt that had to take place because of the time..

Harris should have gotten playing time during the Arky shut out, especially since we kept having to settle for fgs. Harris gets us in the endzone via TD.

Harris should have absolutely played the following week vs one of the worst and softest defenses at atm. This was a golden opportunity to gain confidence and momentum. We already had 4 losses at this point! Jennings got to have his best game and fans were encouraged by the offense opening up, but even still in his best game it was still very average stats. Harris would have lit them up.

Then vs Notre Dame, a game in which ND wasn't shy to play both guys.. Harris still saw no action and we went on to lose to this pathetic team who had like 3 starters on the entire D and a team that lost 5 straight in a close game. You can blame the D, sure., but there were opportunities in that game to get touchdowns and put this game away and we stalled out. I believe Harris gets us into the endzone far more often than Jennings. Period.

This is why I do not even care when Miles makes statements like we will throw for 250 yards or whatever he said. That's not what's inportant. What's important is not having drives stall out inside the redzone and being capable of throwing and rushing for TDs. Harris is your guy here.

Ok.... But he also waited until the last half of the season to do this and also waited until they were playing a weak team to START this first game. Unlike Harris..... And game reps is much better IF the kid is completely ready to take this on. If not and misses a blizt then is hurt..... What then genious??

I'll tell you what.... Now everyone is saying Miles is an idiot for getting our most promising QB hurt when he clearly wasn't ready for this.

That is the reality of playing FB in the fastest league in CFB. These DEs and Lbers want to hurt those opposing QBs and if they aren't aware it can get very bad very fast.

I felt the same way most of the season, but there is validity to Miles' thinking. I didn't hear anyone saying at the time that BH shouldn't get the start at Auburn - everyone was ecstatic. It didn't become an issue until after he stunk up the place. Then it was, " Oh, well why start him at Auburn?" If every couple games Les would have tried him out again, then you totally take away any confidence AJ has in himself or the team has in him. You relegate him to being a place holder for BH and he can not lead the team in any way. Then what if BH continued to put up Auburn-like performances? Now you have no leader or QB. I do think he should have had more opportunities in mop up duty at least just for experience. But there are lots of pschological and morale reasons to stick with AJ after the Auburn start fiasco.

Games where Jennings sucked arse in:

Iowa
ULM
Miss ST
New Mexico St
OM
bAMA
aRKY

Games where I guess you say he didnt suck arse but only because he didnt have a turnover, but he still threw at 50% or under and had less that 175 yards

SHSU
Auburn
Florida
UK
A&M

Decent Games

Games where Harris sucked arse in, but notice still no turnovers, so this would actually be an ok game for Jennings

Auburn

Games Where he was Good in

NMSU
Miss st

So Jennings has 7 suck arse games, 4 Decent, and 1 Good.

Harris has one suck, and 2 Good

I don't necessarily agree with the way Miles handled the QB situation, but advising Harris to transfer after his freshman year, when he was in fact allowed a start and is obviously in a legitimate position to be the guy as a true sophomore, is beyond moronic. frick that guy and good for Brandon for recognizing awful advice and showing much more character than that.

We don't have a QB right now. Jennings might have some leadership attributes, but unfortunately he doesn't have QB attributes. Harris didn't pick up the offense fast enough and Miles was determined not to put him out there and potentially ruin his future. (If you dodn't think Miles is scared of ruining a good qb by starting him too early I don't know what to tell you) Miles started Harris at Auburn because he pretty much had to. Jennings was god awful again vs Ms St, Harris came in and almost won the damn thing, and then Jennings played the worst qtr of college football I have ever seen. Harris coming in and looking like a world beater forced Miles reluctant hand. Once he played as poorly as he did against Auburn, Miles knew he was right and Harris wasn't ready. The season was relegated to trying to make Jennings an average game manager, but he wasn't even capable of that.

Harris more than likely has a giant chip on his shoulder right now. I'd be willing to bet he is going to kill it in workouts, film room, and every possible practice he is allowed to take part in. If he does, there will be no controversy going into next season as his talent, accompanied by the hard work, will fully seperate him from any competition. If he doesn't work harder, then he's not going to be a good QB and who cares who starts between them. Neither will yield the result we are hoping for in that case.

Yeah that making it all the way to the state championship game showed real poor coaching.

Bad statement. In high school it's more about superior athletes than the ability to run a offense. It is the coaches fault that they ran probably 12 plays all season, it is his coaches fault b/c he didn't have his QB learn how to run an offense and instead just relied on his superior athletic ability. It's not Brandon's fault he wasn't taught the skills to put himself in the best possible position to succeed. The coach did what he needed to do to keep his job, that's it.
Now it may also be Brandon's lack of ability to run a complicated offense on the other hand....
These kids have to be willing to learn and put in the time.

More and more you are seeing kids who run spread offenses in high school don't really pan out in the end at QB. It's all about timing and superior athletes. Works when you have superior athletes.... When the playing field is level
