The Santiago Bernabéu stadium will be renamed the Abu Dhabi Bernabéu, according to the Spanish sports newspaper AS.

The report has not been confirmed by Real Madrid and indeed the club has not yet explicitly announced that the stadium will change its name at all, but the president Florentino Pérez was caught on camera admitting to a member of the regional government that the stadium will be called whatever the Abu Dhabi investment group IPIC want it to be called.

Its like icing on the cake revenue. Its not like they need it to get around FFP like other clubs have done.

Neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I just can't see Old Trafford, Anfield and Stamford Bridge ever doing this.

Arsenal makes sense b/c its a brand spanking new ground. Naming rights and expensive arse tickets.

I hope that doesn't happen. But, that is certainly the trend.

I'm guessing all the hallowed grounds will have their naming rights sold eventually... seems inevitable with FFP

Man City's stadium deal is absurd it used to be called city of Manchester Stadium

hence the council ground references other fans make,

Okay, but it still is a sponsorship... I wouldn't be surprised if PSG follows suit soon, too..

That is over inflated like all of them tied to their owners.

I think their 200 million euro kit deal is enough for now.
