But he could just finance the whole thing from those banks that give $500 million loans b/c the NFL and NBA have cash flows.

The Saints and Benson make more from the deal with the state and Champions Square than Manning will make his entire career.

I wouldn't mind if they were part of an ownership group that tried to buy the franchises, but the NBA and NFL usually sell to ownership groups that have a net value greater than the purchase price. If you bought both the Saints and Pelicans would need about $1.8 billion in net worth.

Why do you feel the need to use profanity? And where did I say Tom paid $1 million dollars for the Saints? I'm using that $1 million dollar initial cash investment because that's what Tom himself said he invested, not paid, invested, in an interview with Kenny Wilkerson on WWL some years ago. In the interview, Tom said he put up $1 million dollars in cash and borrowed ~ $35 million for a 55% stake in the team. He recruited investors to buy the other 45%. Over the course of the next 10 years he bought all those other investors out. Some sources say the price was $70 million, some say $75 million. Ok, that was never let of the discussion. And if Tom made that story up, ok. But that's all I'm referencing.

I'm sure the Mannings could be part of a group where they are the "faces" of the group, but they have no where near the cash to buy either team.

They would need a team of other investors, with guys like Chouest on board.

If profanity bothers you, turn it off.

Do you have a link? Also, he had his businesses going for him too. The entire financial world and the NFL is a lot different than it was back then too.

I never even considered this.

I hate Benson (and his family) so much- it would be PERFECT!

What are the chances of something like this happening? Zero? 1%?

They can definitely afford it

No they can't. Could they get an investment group to pay for it? Possibly. But no way in heck could they personally fund 1 billion dollars. There are only ~500 billionaires in the US.

The Manning's are rich. The people that pay their salary are wealthy.

You honestly think the Mannings have close to $2 billion dollars?

I thought Benson only valued the team at 351.4 million?

Sounds like you have put a decent amount of thought into this. The next step is starting an online petition

Sell? No he should just leave the team to the Mannings when he dies. The problem with leaving it to Gayle is what happens after she dies? Sold to highest bidder.

I'm sure there will be several restrictions in place that prevents this from happening.

Dude could arrange financing in half a day, if he wanted to. Even in this market at these oil prices.

You guys are obviously all underestimating what a huge cash cow that Thibodeaux Passing Academy is.
