Green Bay not attacking him just gets more and more head scratching

quote:

ESPN's Ed Werder reports Richard Sherman has torn ligaments in his elbow. It's the first we've heard of any torn ligaments, but Sherman has continually insisted it's not an issue. Sherman has been practicing in full ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl. Per Werder, Sherman is "improving daily," and "finished with treatment." It's possible we'll learn that Sherman is dealing with a more serious injury than he's letting on following SB XLIX.

Pats should put a big guy on the outside to make him work that elbow in the run game.

Not really. Everyone assumed he was playing opossum. Can you imagine if they threw it his way only to watch him come up with a one-handed pick 6 with his injured arm?

That's a very unlikely risk to take over being able to take advantage of a guy with one arm and bring your team to the superbowl

I have one torn ligament in my elbow and I'm still able to powerlift and workout, but it hurts like hell. I can't imagine more than one torn.

The only people who thought he was faking were the guys who hate him and were too blind with hatred to see how bad that hit looked.

Opossum is the correct spelling.

"torn elbow ligaments" is pretty vague both in quantity and severity.

I hope to God that wasn't their reasoning. At the end they were playing from behind and it was the NFC Championship Game.

Maybe they didn't want to tip their hand for any 2015 opponents as to how they would attack in a similar situation.

Because a one-armed Sherman is still elite.

Well, I guess Exhibit A would be the Packers still wanting none of that.

That's the whole point. You don't know if he would've been as effective with one arm because the packers were terribly stubborn about it.

Run some power sweeps behind pulling guard tackle and te at him

Then don't throw at him. Run at him or throw a screen that way. Test his arm by making him make a tackle.
