You do realize that most of the inefficient road crews that take forever and go way over budget, while trying to cut corners are private contractors, don't you?

The comedy of the gubmint hate is that we now offload more work to the private sector than ever before.

I think the comedy, especially in LA, is the under the table dealings done for private contractors to obtain some of that work.

I have done work for the Port of LC and at Ft Polk. Never again is all I will say.

It was lunchtime? Maybe they were eating together and waiting for the last guys to finish?

IDK, it is the government, so they were probably BSing. Just playing devils advocate.

I never said there was anything shady, dummy.

It's just not my cup of tea and I sure as hell wouldn't go out of my way to obtain Gov work.

Not so much any more. DOTD depts can't eat a donut provided by a contractor without a representative of said contractor there to have one as well.

I'm not making that up.

That's the way it should be though.

One city here just had a lot of shite come out about wasting resources. They had one guy on the payroll for years that hardly even left his house. He was pulling in $60K per year. There's a new mayor there now so we'll see how it changes.
