How does a low level minor league team afford these bats. They get like10 people to the game

They are funded by the parent club

They should just go back to the old bats of the mid-2000's. Problem solved

I really don't understand why they won't do this. Maybe it's too simple a solution.

Players safety was the reason they changed it. They want the velocity coming off the bat to be similar

Didn't seem like that was such a problem in the mid 2000s. I understand about the 1990s but the mid 2000s really seemed like a good balance. I guess not.

I agree. It was pretty much perfect before the latest bat change.

Cost

I keep hearing this "cost" argument, yet there are high school leagues around the country as well as entire JUCO conferences that use wooden bats. How are they able to afford it?

As it stands now, most programs don't pay for their bats anyway

the reason is cost, plus you would be decimating forrest for the all the wood that would be needed to supply the colleges...the BBCOR bat is atrocious, it should just be -3 2 5/8 inch barrel and let them have at it..

Skip would still be winning championships with these bats and balls.
