I'm looking for some options for late August. Nice boat, carries 8 or more, private, allows you to drink and have a good time, and carry a few fish home.

I'm looking for more Orange Beach area, but don't mind Pensacola and Destin options.

Not looking for a boring trip

The continental shelf is too long near the coasts

You have to go too far for deep water

LA is better for that reason

Yes I agree went once Wil never go again. It's boring, fish are small and not numerous. Alot of running and gunning.

I used a boat called Justin Time out of Destin. Younger captain and deckhand, 7 people on the boat. Caught a bunch of red snapper, 1 cobia on the way out, and 4 grouper. Good trip.

Leaving Louisiana to go deep sea fishing is like leaving the Playboy Mansion to look for a date.

Went deep sea fishing in Destin last summer. Had a lot of fun but that was mostly bc we caught 2 7+ foot sharks.

Didn't catch any red snapper. Would have had to throw them back anyways. Apparently you only had like a 1 or 2 week window in june to catch them and keep them last summer.

Caught 40+ Amberjack though. Only got to keep ~8 bc they had to be 30+ inches long to keep.

The current Red Snapper limit of 2 during a 2 week season makes the filets some of the most expensive fish in the world

Back in the day.... the only limit was the size of the ice chest.
