I have a Klipsch Synergy 10" sub running from a Denon avr-1913. Noticed today that im getting no sound from the sub, but the blue power light on the front does come on. How can i test to see of the sub is bad, or if the sub output on the receiver is bad?

Confirm the subwoofer output on the receiver is active. There's likely a setting that says Subwoofer: Yes or No (On or Off) and a corresponding crossover frequency.

Change the switch from Auto to On

Try the speaker level inputs

If using only one line level input, put it in the Left/LFE port.

has it ever worked?

go into the audio menus on the receiver and poke around. it's either "manual setup" or "speaker test", something like that. one of them sends a loud static sound through the speakers, and you can manually adjust the volume of each. the sub test sounds like a loud grinding noise.

and maybe read this

Its worked for the last 2 years that I've had it. Usually have it in stereo mode when watching tv but wanted to listen to some music today and when i switched to DTS i noticed my windows weren't rattling lol

Check the audio cable first, they do go bad. Is it a powered sub? If it is, check that it's still plugged in. Always start with the simple things.

Why would you switch out of stereo mode to listen to music?

Check to make sure you speakers are set to small. Sometimes if they are set to large they will get the bass instead of the subwoofer.
