Yeah let's give up much needed draft picks to move up and draft another 1st round WR after we already took one last year while our OL continues to deteriorate. I hope Cooper can get wide open in less than 2 seconds.

Why did Amari suck so much in 2013 with a better QB?

Stat wise I am asking??

Was he injured? More talent to get the ball to that year??

Someone must know this

He's a great prospect, but WR is the last thing that we need to be drafting in the 1st round

He had nagging injury issues that he suffered. See Jimmy Graham and Marshall.

We'd have to give up most of our draft for him. Doubt he goes outside of the Top 7.

Yep, thanks to that Wk 17 comeback against tampa. Well done, Saints.

Where would we have drafted instead?

It still takes a lot to move up 1 spot in the top 10 of the draft. I would love to have Cooper, but honestly we need as many picks as possible and we need them in the middle on offense and defense.

Our best move, if another team is willing, would be to either take an ILB in the 1st or drop back into the 20's and pick a guard.

Wasn't this the guy who said that he did not like New Orleans?

I disagree wholeheartedly.

If Amari Cooper is there at 13 for some inexplicable reason, you need a bigger reason than "He's not a need" to justify passing on him.

A reason like Dante Fowler or Shane Ray is there too.

I'd bet Amari would still be available by the time we pick and would pray we aren't dumb enough to take him.

He is a good WR, but he is no Calvin Johnson or even Demaryius Thomas, Antonio Brown, etc. Definitely not the pick the Saints should be looking at.

We can agree to disagree then. I guess I could accept it if he fell to 13 and we took him, but I'm not 100% sold on him...I don't think he's a surefire stud like the majority here do. I want offensive line, defensive line, or linebacker...and I wouldn't be mad if our 1st 4 picks were all ol, dl, lb. We don't need a QB, RB(assuming Ingram re-signs), WR(assuming Colston resturctures), TE, CB(assuming we sign a FA), and S. Rounds 5-7 should be used to take the best player available(someone the scouts have targeted) regardless of position(although we don't need to draft any TE's or Safeties).

I'm hoping Loomis isn't taking anything from Matt Millen's draft strategy guide.

That is extremely doubtful unless he gets injured between now and the draft

It really wouldn't be a dumb pick

Antonio Brown,

Why can't he be like Antonio Brown? He's bigger, stronger, and faster.

Alabama was a run 1st team up until last year. All of a sudden Kiffin wanted Sims to be Dan Marino. Cooper's stats accounted for something ridiculous like 58% of our offense all season.

Yeah but he was supposed to put them over the top and that hasn't really happened.

Nah. Address other glaring issues and pick up Sammy Coates in the 2nd. That boy will be just as good imo.

Cooper is a good WR but we need a Center and two OG's and we need them ASAP! I am having this dream that Delvin Breaux is going to be a good #2 CB for us. I've been clicking my heels and repeating "there's no place like home". My kid says it works. Honestly we need a new interior offensive line, that's how you build a championship team, especially with weapons in place like we have.
