Yes, but if you don't use all of that glycogen, it will store in your body as fat. Me, personally as a competitor, my body is trained to run on proteins
yeah for sure, if you're a bodybuilder your body is going to be run mostly on proteins. I just figured if someone was more focused on cardio that carbs> fat>protein?
I have also heard the MCT oil and being in ketosis helps with energy and endurance. have you heard anything about this?

My go to cut diet is a ketosis diet I've developed over the years. I have more energy on it.

You sound like you are all over the place
If you are in NOLA, go to the Crossfit NOLA gym. It will give you structure and put you on the right track. There is a fella there named Jeff Germond, the owner, he is one of the elite crossfitters in the US. Crossfit combines olympic lifts, cardio, gymnastic exercise etc. It will no doubt allow you to reach your goals.
Everyone is supportive and the trainers will work with you extensively on your lift form before you even attempt anything heavy. There are many different types of height/weights/in shape/out of shape people.
Dont believe all the hate it gets until you try it. It's perfect for a person like you who is all over the place and generally clueless. You will become enlightened very quickly

I checked out of NOLA last May...I'm going to stick with this for a bit. I did just have a pig out Chinese weekend so I'm betting I'm back to 178 by weeks end. I feel good after my workouts and though it's not saying much, I think I look much better than when I started. It's just tough adjusting to life without constant cardio to make a weekend of pigging out disappear

I might as well be retarded when it comes to working out (other than cardio) so I don't know what that is
Branched chained amino acids... they're the three main building blocks of protein ( leucine, valine isoleucine) and they're important for building muscle. Also, known for to help with cutting too. I recomend some stuff called Best BCAA by BPI it has CLA in it which your help you burn fat

I'm taking some kind of amino powder in my preworkout, is that what that is? The precise name escapes me

How flat looking do you get on a keto diet? I have done a few and I lose the weight but I look so damn flat.
I am pretty good at lifting weights and getting strong but my damn diet skills are horrible. (as I'm eating a pimento cheese wrap)
Posted on 1/27/15 at 11:19 am to DelU249
Yeah, pretty much the same...except with BCAAs you're getting more of the main three

Don't waste your money on all kind of supplements and whatnot, if you want to reach your goals just stay consistent in the gym and at the dinner table. Your body will follow suit.

Real Flat!!!
The generic Keto diet suggest that after a month, you add a cheat meal in (once a week, last meal of the day, same day of the week each week). This still kept me flat. I adjusted it to where I would eat a healthy cheat meal on Tuesday night (Brown Rice, Rice Cakes, Oatmeal, Wheat Bread) and on Friday night, I would eat an all out cheat meal (Pizza, Wings, Pasta, Chips, etc..)

to my credit. the first 3 weeks I didn't eat 3 times a day, didn't drink a morning shake, preworkout shake or post workout shake, and was eating a shitload of nasty shite because I thought I had to eat like a pig.
so I think if my 1 month results are good (and I think they are despite not being even remotely close to where I want to be) then this next month should yield some nice results

How long are you in ketosis for? Are your cutting out carbs completely? Im thinking about trying it out once springbreak gets closer
Posted on 1/27/15 at 11:25 am to rintintin
I've only been on the shakes since Thursday and my mornings are feeling much more sore, which is good. I'm going to stick with them. I feel without them I would plateau pretty quickly and give up

I read somewhere that you shouldn't be on it for more than 6-7 months, due to the brains lack of glycogen. The brain needs glucose to function (Bad headaches on keto diet) and I've heard you can cause slight brain damage going strict keto for longer than 7 months.
I cut all direct carbs. Still intake indirect carbs from nuts, fats, cheese, etc.. but it is very little, like less than 25g a day.
