One time I tried to make Jello pudding with almond milk. That chit was all kinds of disgusting.
True story.
True story.

One cup of almonds contains 12 grams of fiber.
Curiously, one cup of almond milk contains less than one gram of fiber.
Also note that "natural flavor" is added. Simply put, there's a paucity of actual almonds in almond milk, and you would be better off having an actual handful of almonds.

But what if you want cereal and almond milk?

anytime stuff is juiced, the fiber is removed. that's a big argument against juicing veggies
it's not that curious

i mean the alternative is dairy milk. how much fiber is in dairy milk?

That's the vanilla favoring.
I get the plain almond milk.
I get the plain almond milk.

8 ounces of plain almond milk contains ~ 2 mg of calcium.
8 ounces of dairy milk has ~ 300 mg.

What this tells you is that the almond-milk industry is selling you a jug of filtered water clouded by a handful of ground almonds.

You missed the point.
Almonds have an abundance of fiber per serving. Presumably, if almond milk is made with an acceptable quantity of almonds, it would contain similar amounts of fiber per serving - but it doesn't. In fact, a full cup of almond milk contains less than 1/12 of the fiber you would receive from ingesting just a handful of almonds.
Almond milk is really just chemical water with a few natural flavors.

Based on the nutritional factors I've posted in this thread.

SO fiber is the be all, end all nutritional fact people should look for from their food source?

not if it's juiced
juicing removes the fiber from anything you put in it, even veggies

i don't drink almond milk for fiber. i get enough of that elsewhere

"chemical water" sounds so dangerous. tea is nothing more than chemical water with a few natural flavors, too

it's dumb shite for sucker women and douchebags with gluten allergies.

I'm using fiber as an indicator as to the amount of almonds actually present in almond milk - which is an incredibly small amount.
A full cup of almond milk may literally contain half an almond.
So, essentially, in one cup of almond milk, you're drinking water, salt, natural flavors, locust bean gum, sunflower lecithin, gellan gum...and half an almond.

esp since we're talking about a dairy milk substitute...dairy milk contains no fiber, either
so the argument, even if it had a point, has no merit

If you are lactose intolerant, just drink Lactaid. It's real milk, just without lactose. I don't understand why they don't take the lactose out of all milk. It also comes with the added benefit of people not thinking you're a douche for drinking hipster nut "milk".

but you're indicator is flawed, and i've already explained why. juicing anything removes fiber from it

even if this is true, it tastes like milk and has the advantages people have posted about in this thread (namely lower cals/fat)
taking your argument at its worst, it still doesn't make a compelling case for much

I couldn't care less about the fiber content of almond milk. As mentioned, you can use the amount of fiber present in almond milk as an indicator as to how many almonds are actually present per serving.
Which amounts to about half an almond per cup.

There's no gluten in cow's milk either.
A lot of people are lactose intolerant on varying levels too.
