New a/c installed less than a year ago. Had some issues after about 6 months. Service tech comes out, finds the problem and replaces the parts. Problem fixed. Gives us the bill and it shows 0 payment due. All parts and labor covered under warranty. Company keeps sending us a bill for the labor including a call out fee. Total of this bill is like $225. We have the copy of the original invoice the tech gave us showing nothing was due. He spent 20 minutes in his truck figuring the bill on the phone with his office at the time of the service. WYPI??

I would call and ask why they are charging for warranty work.

If it were me I would politely go to their place of business and show them. I'd even make a copy to leave with them.

I would also contact the tech guy and have him speak to them too.

Less than a year old, should be free service for issues anyway, right? I would at least try to get it straightened out before they sell your bill to a collections agency. Then you're fricked.

They are saying now that only the parts should have been covered under the mfg warranty.

Nope nope nope. But make sure to dispute the invoice. Don't just toss it in the trash.

At least yours got fixed. We had Bell Mechanical out to our house twice to fix our heater. They came out twice to diagnose it for some reason, and then order a part.

Yup, my story ends there. Never received a bill and for some reason their techs always forget their laptops.

Never received a bill though, I wouldnt pay it anyway since we are under warranty and the circumstances.

usually warranty work only covers part not labor, but if he gave you a invoice with a zero balance he should honor that. or maybe offer to pay half.

Don't pay and tell contractor you're going to call the manufacturer and report him if it continues. Presumably he gets a lot of warranty work for them.

go up to the business and figure out whether you truly owe anything or not...if you owe it, pay it...
