Any chance they go rogue by end of season?
There's supposed to be "at least" 5 seasons per FX's head honcho. That would be tough to do with them off the reservation by the end of this season.

Just watched Wednesdays episode. That old lady scene was very good, but extremely hard to watch. I even teared up a little bit.
This season has been miles ahead of season 2 IMO

pure speculation here:
Elizabeth doesnt want to groom/assess Paige anymore than Phillip, and is in full agreement with him....silently
the only way she can turn in an assessment that Paige is not fit for the Centre or the program, is to have every last individual truly, truly believe she is actively moving forward with her own daughter. She will turn in a report that Paige is not Centre material. Phillip's disapproval, rage and anger only solidifies Elizabeth's assessment.

Possibly one of the most gut wrenching things I have seen on regular television. How this show doesn't get more run is beyond me. There is nothing on right now that rivals it in drama.

Americans like shitty TV. Simple as that.
The Voice, CSI and Empire get huge ratings.

Too slow, too many layers, too cerebral for today's ADD audience.

my point was about those who watch "quality television" and not the norms, though

I don't see that. She's a "true believer" in the cause. She buys into Communism 100% imo and truly believes, even if just to convince herself, that she does these things to "make the world a better place". Now, going forward we'll see if the old ladies stinging words have a lingering effect that makes her re think things, but I think she wants Paige in because she believes in the cause.
Phillip OTOH i think just joined the KGB because that's the premo job in that system. He doesn't really care about the politicsHe'd prolly be a lawyer or on Wall Street if he grew up in the US and hinted back in season 1 about defecting cause hey, its much nicer over here, he got a sweet car etc.
Paige is shaping up like Elizabeth. She's into leftist causes and her devotion to religion is similar to a devotion to communism by her mom. Henry i feel is more like Phillip, he doesn't care and just wants the cool stuff, video games etc.
