It's with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Christina Bannister who died this morning at 10 AM. Christina suffered a stroke a week ago, Sunday. She was a hard working woman, in her restaurant in the early hours of every morning.
I'll post a link with obit when one becomes available.

She was a fiery Armenian, for sure. Thanks for the news. Sorry to hear.

BATON ROUGE - The owner of a popular downtown restaurant has died.
"Christina Bannister died Monday. She had an aneurysm a few weeks ago and had been on a ventilator for two weeks until family members made a decision to remove it Sunday."
"The restaurant will remain open, family members said."

"She treated all her customers like family and was probably the most giving person that I ever knew," her brother said. "She would also take meals to her customers if they were sick, without them even asking."
Rest in peace, Christina. Your work is done.

I have breakfast there about twice a month since Maggio had the place and she waited tables for him. Great place and sad to hear.
