depends on condition of bore and if rifle has been shot a lot

inspect bolt face for fire pits and/or excess brass wear (see pics below)

inspect lugs for wear

Chad nothing to worry about with that smudge,
You will scar that finish more than that just hunting with it, all my stainless rifles have that and all I can do is accept it.

Just purchased the synthetic/stainless "used" tikka rifle. $575 total shipped! The only thing better than a Tikka is 2 Tikkas!

Zeiss used to make Stainless scopes, not silver, so it matched the barrel. Not sure if they still do.

I wouldn't be hesitant about using the provided dovetail base. I've seen a lot of people not wanting to use them, but not a lot of people having trouble using them.

But if you want to go another route, google found this base.
