But the difference is most musicians/guitar players can use and produce music from CPU based programs. Most musicians use those programs in some way anyway. Hand a guitar to most rap producers and see what happens.

Dude, you are backpedaling now. That's not at all what you were arguing about before. Your argument was that it takes more skill to create complex guitar music than electronic. Now you are saying that most guitarists know how to create music electronically so that makes them better than hip hop artists? You've clearly lost all credibility.

Not that there was any to begin with.

Yes to both. Most hip hop guys aren't that talented and don't have the technical skill of a real musician. Not all , but most.

Sorry that SUB from music board says I don't have any credibility. I've worked in studios with both mediums, and these are my observations. Electronic music and programs are great, but the hip hop genre is saturated with lots of little talent, uninspired people. Again, not all, but most.

We disagree. That's ok.

Honestly, I think we are just talking about two different things. I agree that it is easier to push a button to play a G chord on a computer than it is to learn how to play a G chord on a guitar.

I agree. I guess I'm just saying that technology/ CPU programs have provided shortcuts for marginally talented people, that otherwise would have no business putting out music.

At the same time, I love the freedom and the soundscapes those programs can create if used by a talented musician.

The most important thing in art is The Frame. For painting: literally; for other arts: figuratively-- because, without this humble appliance, you can't know where The Art stops and The Real World begins.

Yes, I put a frame around my fart and now it is music.

It's music without soul. So no, it's not music because it's absent of the very thing that makes music great.

I think the music world would be just fine if it never existed; not very creative, bad poetry, not original, takes no real talent. Case in point- Kayne West...pretty sad people are reduced to listening to this crap...
