Don't take this as me saying that modern day electronic artists are as talented as Mozart and Beethoven. That's irrelevent and would be missing my point entirely. It's just that you seem to think that a person has to actually play their own music with an instrument to be as talented. At least that seems to be your argument. That's an entirely modern expectation. Things haven't been like that very long.

I just said electronic music can be good. There are tons of examples of this from Radiohead to Kraftwerk to Q-Tips Renaissance album. IMO most rap does not use the medium creatively, but just as a backdrop for false bravado and perpetuation of lame stereotypes.
Most modern rap has a lot in common with 80s hairbands and modern BroCountry.

Again, I'm not saying all of it sucks, just most.

That's fine. Really I wouldn't know what the landscape looks like because I don't really listen to much of that stuff. It's just how you presented your point, it seemed that you were saying something about the potential of the medium. It has just as much potential as a display of talent as anything else if not more because of the freedom that it gives the "composer" or creator.

The guy who compared simple guitar playing of power chords to simple beats/electronic music and complex guitar to complex beats/electronic music described this idea perfectly.

Yes, complex guitar music takes much longer and more skill to execute than complex beats. The Cpu does a lot of work for you. That doesn't mean the electronic musician can't be as creative. In fact, it really opens up a whole other world of sound.

The overwhelming majority of people could learn to play and write rock and traditional music way before classic beats by good producers like Kanye.

Sure rap is music. It's missing a lot of elements that most other forms of music possess, but it is certainly music.

think what an aboriginal tribe would think of a classical piano concerto if they jumped forward n time.

are the drums and chanting from their culture music? yeah

is the piano concerto music? yeah

just missing some elements.

Rap is not music.
It's all beats that are made from some computer software with people with no grasp of the English language rapping over them.
I'm sorry but any song that uses ni**** isn't music, why listen to something that uses that word amongst "bitch" and "hoe" and talks abt making girls swallow and shite like that? That's just noise and stupid shite for the masses who don't have the intellect to appreciate what real music is.
Rap and hip hop is not music, it's noise.
No feeling, no skill, no real talent translatable to a stage. Most can't play instruments, it's all trash

That is kind of the point I am making. I mean, I can sit here and tap my fingers on the desk and hum in rhythm and that is technically music.
