By atmosphere and attitude.. I mean LSU hadn't sniffed a National Championship in memory and the fans wanted to win baaad. BAD. Hard to explain, I guess. 10 win seasons were not the norm. Respect was for other teams and LSU fans wanted it. Always confident when Hodson took the field. LSU had not allowed a POINT in the 4th quarter going into the Notre Dame game later in the season. frick YEAH.

Thanks for posting. This game reminded me of 3 things in comparison to our present day Tigers...
1) Davis and OBJ were identical style of WRs with spider like hands. Just both beautiful artistry and athletiscm to watch.
2) goal Line stands in the student end zone never get old to watch. Electrifying atmosphere.
3) Hodson to Kinchen...good Gawd I miss great QB to TE plays. Show Miles the tape of this game!!,

Idiot statement of subby aside, that's why Lou Holtz doesn't like LSU. He still hasn't gotten over it.

I was Hodson or Davis in neighborhood backyard football. Wendell got such a tough break on that shitty philly turf. Dude could shake you in a phone booth.

That Notre Dame coach looks like that old guy on ESPN

The stadium is not the same. The crowd isn't the same. The game isn't the same. Fans are spoiled. Les is stale. But LSU will live on after all of us are dead and buried.

Too much money and corporatism is killing the college football atmosphere.

Tommy was phenominal and still a legend in Matthews. His nephews and neices are some pretty good athletes as well.

On a side note.... a GIF from 9:53 to 9:57 would be great.

I still think Garland Jean Baptiste is one of the greatest LSU names ever. That one and Hokie Gajan were some great FB names.
