On Sunday, the All-Pro cornerback told reporters why.

"Will they be punished? Probably not," Sherman told reporters Sunday. "As long as Robert Kraft and Roger Goodell are still taking pictures at their respective homes. He was just at Kraft's house last week before the AFC Championship. You talk about conflict of interests. As long as that happens, it won't affect them at all. Nothing will affect them."

Sherman was later asked about the perception that the Patriots take rules to the limit.

"I think the perception is the reality," Sherman said. "It is what it is, their resume speaks for itself. You talk about getting close to the line....I do not really have a comment on that. Their past is what their past is, their present is."

As for deflating footballs, Sherman admitted that this week was the first time he has ever had it brought up.

"I have never thought about under inflated footballs," Sherman said. "As a kid, you always kept a pump on you. I did not even know about the rule. That was probably the last thing on my mind."
