Actually, it kind of is who you are as a person.

Well, society is collapsing in on itself in many ways, but I think it can all be traced back to this issue.

quote:

A girl helped me take out my trash. I asked her if she'd lived in the apartments long. She said "since November, I'm a single mother."

how was that relevant? She then proceeded to tell me how trashy she is for the next 15 minutes

It's relevant because it's a general trend in society.

Paul, obviously I care. A few of the threads we start on this board pertain to random observations, things we like and things that annoy

Obviously this falls under the annoys me category. If you have no opinion there's really no reason for you to reply. That's what I do with probably 97% of threads on here

If you have something more interesting or more important to you on your mind, then please start a thread about it. I'll weigh in if I care. If not, I probably won't

Would you rather, "Hey, I'm a day trader. Wanna blow me in the car?"

Eta: Maybe she was nervous, fresh out of a relationship, and didn't know what to say

This was my thought as well. I mean, its the dominating feature of their daily lives. Who is Paige to tell this woman she can't wrap her identity around this? People wrap identities around a lot less (e.g., a profession).

This woman did Paige a favor, told Paige things about herself, only for Paige to run behind her back and call her trashy on the internet. The real lesson here is that Paige is avoidable.

I hate hearing how most of them call themselves single moms while the dad is still very prevalent in the child's life and helping pay the bills. To me a single mom is someone with a kid that the father isn't in the picture and gets no assistance from him.

This right here. My ex-wife is fond of saying she's a "single mom," implying that she takes on all the responsibility of raising our son single-handedly. Such bullshite.

Number of times I've called myself a "single dad": ZERO.

To some extent. It seems today that "single parent" is used too often to excuse shitty behavior by the single parent's kids.

I appreciate Paige for bringing this content to the forefront. It's not a badge of honor, it's a responsibility and her own burden. And judging people is exactly what the OT is about.

I don't tell random people when I pay off a cell phone bill that's my business, I'm supposed to pay that fricker.

No, I dont find anything annoying about what you just said, besides the fact that said female thought she made a friend in you and you couldnt wait to get on the ot to talk about how trashy she was.

Paying a cell phone bill is a little more trivial than raising a child. Your comparison is pretty fricking bad.

Agreed. I'm far more annoyed by cattiness.

No because I stood there listening to her trashy bullshite for the next fifteen minutes

Tgrbait, good question. Maybe it was the odd way she interjected it because that would've been weird also

That is golden coming from a girl bragging about a mouth full of cock on a first date.
