My mom found a bunch of my grandfather's old suits, some of them very nice.

I know I can get the pants altered no problem but can you do that to the jacket?

The sleeves are just a tad short, maybe half an inch, and would like for the jacket to fit a little tighter. Is this even possible?

excuse my ignorance if this is a common thing. I honestly have never heard of anyone having a jacket altered

thanks

I guess I'm just not as fancy as you.

I'm in grad school and have 3 suits. My only experience was finding a jacket that fit and then having pants hemmed and whatnot

The sleeves might be tough if there isn't enough material, but most nice suits leave enough extra for these cases.

this, plus how many times it's been professionally pressed, the heat applied will fade the fabric over time and even if there is enough to let out it might be a noticeable difference in the color shade
