Remembering one our all time great LSU basketball players. Here he is playing H-O-R-S-E. The one and only Pete Maravich!

I was just a very young boy, but Pete was something to see.

Thanks for posting. So glad I had the opportunity to see the Pistol play when he was with the Jazz. as well as watching him on TV when he was at LSU.

I was very fortunate to have been able to see him play a few times when he was at LSU. He was absolutely the most incredible basketball player I have ever seen & I watch basketball waaaay too much. He was an absolute magician on the court. I remember one game they played at Tulane. He made those poor Tulane players look like fools with his incredible passing. And he didn't puposefully do that (make them look like fools) it was just how he played basketball. I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to see him play at LSU. What a treat.

There's an old movie called "The Pistol- Birth of a legend" it's the story about Pete and his very first year of basketball and it was filmed at my school in Ponchatoula Louisiana and I swear every teacher I had would make us watch that movie at least once a year, it was the only movie I never grew tired of. I was only 2 years old when he died but listening to my dads stories about watching The Pistol play ball is what gave me my love of the game. RIP Pistol Pete.

That shot got him to the finals....and I believe he had to miss the final due to an injury

I was at LSU when Pete played. I never missed a home game. Awesome, does not describe his skills. He sat next to me in an Accounting class and we talked a little about a game with Tenn coming up. Nice guy.
The Pistol gave me many of my Good Times. Thanks Pete, and RIP.

He lived one block over from me at his parents house on Chevelle Drive. We all would ride our bikes over and sit on the banana seat of the Schwinn Stingrays and watch him shoot in the driveway.
I remember that like it was yesterday.
