After the two scrimmages Pap should be behind the plate. People stole on will vs Chinea today.

I guess I should have added my reasons...

Kade should start at C or DH, Chinea too. Those are going to be interchangeable unless Paps steps up and starts crushing the ball early.

Yes, I did say Kade won't be catching very long but early on, I think he hits well enough to hold onto the spot longer than he should. In other words, Paps will end up slowly taking more reps at C until it is Paps catching and Kade or Chinea at DH. Only problem is, Chinea can't hit Righties but he destroyed lefties. So we could end up seeing Kade at DH against Righties and Chinea against Lefties.

Oh, nothing against your post. I was just stating my observations about Catcher.

I think there are a lot of question marks still to this team. It has a lot of pieces to be a special team this year.

Scrimmages today and yesterday may mean nothing come 20 days when Kansas comes. Maybe the lightbulb for someone will click.

Nice job, Tadelatt. I can tell you love the game of baseball (and an Astros fan to boot)! Have you thought about updating your Astros logo, or do you just like the retro look of the one you use with the Dome and the 'electrons' rotating? We're going for .500 this year, and then actually being a contender in '16. Are you coming to Houston for the College Classic?

Old PDF from the fall. Not the official roster for spring. Troy Whitty, Faucheux, and Pelaez are gone too FWIW

Pap at catcher with Chinea and Kade alternating DH is doable. I think that is the scenario after the first few games, but I think Beau and Deichmann add their names to the DH spot before its over with.

“I think we hit about 40 home runs last year, if I am not mistaken. If I did predict, I would guess that we are going to probably hit about 60 to 70 home runs this year. It's not going to return to the 'Gorilla Ball' days, no question about that. But, I do think that there will be more home runs and consequently maybe some late inning rallies and that type of thing.”

They hit 33 HRs, based on PM's comments on fall ball that equates to sub 55, maybe a few more if there is a heat multiplier effect at season's end. Whatevs, 55 is shite load better than 33, and some newcomers are more tilted towards power hitting than last season. Every team benefits, still don't think it is a huge change in W's. But that pitching potential compared to using 4-5 guys to get through some weekend games, oh, yeah.
