This is looking like a total waste of time now.

NE won the first half 17-7 with under inflated balls.

With fully inflated balls, New England stomped the Colts 28-0.

If it had a way of changing the outcome, I could see all the angst.

Now that we know that New England scored at will in the 2nd half and Indy could not make a field goal, what the heck difference does it make?

The point was never that it was the reason they won the game. It was that they possibly cheated, again, and who knows for how many games.

I tried to rob a bank today, but my gun wouldn't fire.

Bank didn't lose any money. I don't see the big deal.

because it was fricking cheating if they actually purposely did it

People used to have standards about such things.

People have always cheated but the outrage when they were caught was a lot more universal.

We can say that after the fact...

But imagine the game was very close. Imagine it was found out the Seahawks used an under-inflated ball against the Packers. Or an over-inflated ball on the onside kick.

We can say now after the fact that it probably didn't affect the outcome of the game. But they were using under-inflated balls when the game was 0-0. They were cheating regardless of the final score of the game.

Baseball Team A is up 9-0 in the top not the ninth. A batter for team A, who is 0-4 in the game, grounds out to go 0-5, but cracks his bat and reveals it's corked.

Meh, who cares. Team would have won even if his bat wasn't corked, why are we wasting any time talking about this?!

You really don't get why this is a story?

A team headed to the Super Bowl that has been busted cheating before just got caught cheating again and you think its a non story?

Use your brain mayne.

It should be shocking that people are still falling back on this excuse, but TD is full of idiots, so it's not.

This is entirely the point and I wish everyone (media, NFL, etc..) would stop being so blatantly blind and see it.

If the NFL just lets this pass with zero punishment to the Pats, it's a sham and Goodell should resign.

New England has consistently shown they embrace a culture of being above the rules.

Belichick should be suspended, draft picks should be taken away and a massive fine should be issued to that organization.

Goodell said himself that not knowing isn't an excuse, then promptly slammed Payton and the Saints. The precedent was set right then and there, so I don't care how many times Belichick denies it or if he even had anything to do with it.

In the eyes of NFL and their precedent set at bountygate, Belichick is guilty and should have the hammer brought down on him for harboring a culture of arrogant and blatant cheating.

Freaking idiot.

It isn't about the outcome of the game. It's about breaking the rules, regardless. You aren't above the rules as a fricking team. You are held accountable just as everyone else is. Period.

Word is the Ravens alerted NFL to the fact; looks like this may have been happening for a while.

Surprise surprise.

Goodell won't do anything. Not to Kraft and that organization. This league is an absolute joke with it's disciplinary policies and procedures.

If this were the Saints? My God, Payton and company would have already been lynched and the team disbanded.

As it turns out, it had no impact.

But, that's no reason to excuse cheating. It could have had an impact on the game. If you are going to have specific rules, you have to enforce it. The punishment should be severe.

Just admit that the Pats and Tom Brady tried to gain an unfair advantage and that is cheating. Should they forfeit the game? No, but they should be punished and Bellichick should be suspended for one calender year (remember according to commish ignorance is no excuse).
