Anyone trade stocks as a side job?

Another thread mentioned this possibility so I thought it deserved its own thread.
Is this something people do and how much time does it take to devote to this sort of thing to be able to make $300-$400 extra a month?

To steal a line from Russian, if you want to make that much you need to start with $800.

I think it'd be hard to make that much consistently unless you started out with about $10,000. And even then you'd have to be damn good to bring in 3-4% a month.

Don't forget to factor in taxes and trading fees. You might have to gain 5-7% to make the 300-400 needed.
