I thought Orgeron would be making a lot more than that.

Why does everyone want Cooper back? Dude was a great evaluator at camps, but was a lazy recruiter and okay coach. Not to mention all the bridges he burned on the way out. There is a reason why he is coaching DBs at USF

Agree that Raymond is underpaid. order of highest -> lowest paid should be:

Wilson = Steele
Orgeron = Raymond
everyone else.

Big thing here is that Wilson needs lockdown money. Orgeron and Raymond aren't that far behind.

Orgeron gets the Miles clause.

Admin either knows he's retiring soon or he's on a hot seat that's not been shown to the public yet.

I'm pretty convinced he won't be here after 2017.

Hopefully LSU can hang on to Dylan Moses.

I didn't expect you of all people to be propagating this bullshite. The "Miles clause" is an irresponsible media term being used to describe the same clause every other assistant gets around the country. It's unheard of for any assistant to be promised a job if his head coach is fired. Agents around the country are attempting to replace this practice with a buyout, because it makes them more money. The only reason we're hearing about it more at LSU is our assistant coaching change is happening while the agents are attempting the change the contract precedents after being emboldened in recent years by huge HC contracts.

Question: Is there any chance that Steele is making equal to Chavis's 1.3 million?

I was shocked that Orgeron is making/agreed to the same sum that Brick was making. If Steele is making less than seven figures, does it mean we low-balled our top DC candidates?

No one knows what he's getting paid yet, but I don't think there's too much to read into there. I'm sure the pay was dependent on the person. LSU just wrote Brick Haley a six figure check for breaching his contract, I doubt a few hundred grand was a dealbreaker in the DC search. It should be obvious to everyone at this point Miles' intent was to put together the best recruiting staff he could. If the top priority was always recruiting ability, then you realize Steele was a good compromise considering he at least has DC experience. The flip side to that coin could have been giving Orgeron the DC job and retaining Brick, and it would have been much cheaper.

#LSU asst new contracts:
Wilson 3-yr, 660k (10k raise)
Raymond 2, 310k (10k raise)
Ensminger 2, 300k (no raise)
Henry 2, 375k (50k raise)

Ed Orgeron gets 2-yr deal for $450K a year

As expected, Orgeron's contract includes the "Les Miles clause."

i guess coach miles has 2 years to get back on track.

Meaningless stat at this point given the downward trajectory at the program at this time.
