Don Draper (Mad Men)
Tommy Shelby (Peaky Blinders)
Gustavo Fring (Breaking Bad)
Joan Holloway (Mad Men)

Those are probably my four favorites. Not sure about the order.

No episode is weak.

It's six to a season. Reminds me of metal albums from the 80's that had six or seven songs on them, each was important and no filler needed. Cinematography is great, written and delivered well, music is good. Atmosphere is outstanding.

Doesn't have to sway towards good or evil
This is curious.

My answer is Michael Corleone. I don't think he ever swayed good or evil in his mind. His role was always justified from gunning down Sollozzo to ordering the execution of Fredo.

Interesting back story
The 3rd son of Don Corleone. Rejected his fathers views, enlisted in the military when everyone was against it.

3-dminesional/ dynamic
Along with the above, his character is amazingly dynamic. He ends up sacrificing his inherent beliefs to take ownership of the family. In the process, he becomes what he didn't want to be. The toll was great. In the end (GFII), he lost almost everyone he cared about, but "the family" was safe.

Played by a good actor/actress
I think Al Pacino is a shell of his former actor self, but he is one of the greatest actors of his generation.

Off the the top of my head I'd go with Bryan Cranston as Walter White. I could list a bunch more though..

Well put. You're the only one who substantiated your choice. There are a bunch of shite getting thrown at the wall. Some trying to be profound and others trolling.

Bravo sir

I seriously can't believe Tony Soprano hasn't been mentioned yet.
