To keep the surrounding riff-raff out.

So when the thugs try to cross the bridge, after the next hurricane, they have a tank to take them all out.

Algiers... Not the West Bank
The Point and Park Timbers are pretty much the only nice areas in Algiers. The rest is a dump or quickly deteriorating into a dump (i.e. Old Aurora and Tall Timbers).

algiers is the second oldest part of this city. it deserves better than its getting right now. Sadly post katrina it looks more like new orleans east than anything.

Tall Timbers has become a dump.
Park Timbers is still nice.
Algiers Point is a gem nestled amongst a sea of trash.
I guess English Turn is still nice. Haven't been back over there in years.

old aurora is still nice. ET is still nice. Tall Timbers and Park Timers are still nice. Pakenham Oaks is still nice. The Point is still nice. The only part that has diminished is Bocage and Walnut Bend.

I live on the Eastbank of Orleans. I would hate to see New Orleans lose territory. If anything, I wish we could annex East Jefferson (or at least Old Metairie) and get all those sales tax dollars we keep losing. A consolidated Eastbank would be better than splitting the Westbank.

AT MINIMUM, can we at least merge the NOPD and JPSO? MetroDade (Miami and suburbs police) and Louisville Metro have consolidated and it works well.

Also, less political, can we merge the RTA and JET???

I've been in Park Timbers now for 2 years and love it. This part of Degaulle is going through a nice facelift at the moment.

Jefferson has no reason to combine with Orleans on either bank. Algiers needs to find a better way to address its issues.
