The second 10-day was enough for Langston Galloway to take off. Why not give Wolters a shot?

Why would you guess that? Jimmer is guaranteed through the end of the year, so the only reason to release him is to free up a roster spot.

good

Btw - i'm really disappointed in the rest of this board for not being willing to have a legitimate conversation on Wolter's future as our second point guard.

he's arguably the seventh most important guy on our team right now and in the future as well

Because it's not really a conversation as he's proven next to nothing.

With Jrue out you're so wrong. Hes likely to be getting 20+ minutes per game for the next month.

He got benched for a 10 day player. I think that is reason enough to spect he won't be around much longer.

He was benched for the 10-day player because the 10-day contract was about to expire. Monty gave Wolters playing time so he could evaluate Wolters some more.

There is also no benefit in cutting Jimmer because his contract is guaranteed.

I guess we will see tonight. Coach obviously, thought he wasn't needed. Jimmer has had his contract bought out before, correct?

Yes, the Kings bought out his contract last season which allowed him to be a free agent to sign with the Bulls. I'm just saying the Pelicans won't do this because: 1. His money is guaranteed. 2. He is signed for the veteran minimum (which is just over 900k) for just this season. The only reason the Pels would release him is if they desperately needed to open a roster spot up.

It just seems to me at this point if they did pick up a vet they would get rid of him instead of Walters.

How much is a 10-Day contract like this worth? Is this information not released? (I didn't look hard, but couldn't find it)

Why do they do 10 "day" contracts, and not say 5 "game" contracts? TIA

for the 2013-14 season, the 10-day call-up amounts were approximately $28,834 for a rookie, $46,404 for a player with one year experience, $52,017 for a player with at least two years experience, and in the event that there was a player with 10 or more years of experience, they would receive a 10-day contract valued at $82,324.

Info came from this article: LINK

As for why it is a 10-Day contract and not a 5 game contract I'm not sure, but I'll do some digging and see if I can find the answer.

Edit: Found your answer:

80. What is a 10-day contract? A 10-day contract is just that, a player contract which lasts ten days (or three games, whichever comes later).
