We're there missed calls during the game? Maybe 100? Traveling? Fouling? If you expect NBA caliber referees (still often awful) from a $10 an hr. park referee, you are setting yourself up for disaster. And if you had the right call every time, every kid would foul out by halftime. It's a youth rec. league. It's imperfect. It's a learning experience and sometimes you learn life isn't fair and people really screw up. You should tell them to be ready for the inevitable adversity and practice harder so next time you are up by 6 at the end and one blown call won't matter. Teach them to spend their energy getting better and getting a thicker skin instead of stomping and complaining. Especially after the last whistle blows and they lock up the gym. What's the point now? To be validated? You were right. The ref. screwed up. Now you teach the kids to move forward and get better.

I stress the importance of rebounding and beating your opponent to smitheens. If they can take those two things away from this year than I have been successful. Who am I kidding, I'm already successful.
