Has anyone gone through the experienced hire interview process with Shell?

If so, how long do they normally take before a decision is made after the final assessment?

Depends. It took mine about 1.5 weeks. I interviewed with 2 sites for 2 jobs, and wanted offers in same time. So the other only took 1 week.
Call your HR focal point. Sometimes they are just waiting on the site guys to complete paperwork, or make a follow up call to the site guys. I knew I was getting both offers before they even came. It just became a timing thing.

I think Jim Haslett was a Shell assistant, so he could tell you about the Shell interview process.

Not necessarily true. I've seen the bust happening first-hand onshore, but I currently have two offers on the table for offshore positions; one is from a big operator and the other from a giant oilfield services company.
I can only comment on upstream (drilling and completions), I have no idea what's going on downstream and in the plants, etc.

Yes, overall it isn't too bad. Though the cavity search at the end seemed a little unnecessary IMO.

Make sure that you drive to the interview at no less than 100mph. That'll show them that you care about conservation and the environment.

I have an acquaintance "in the know" that says Shell can still make a profit at ~$65 a barrel - so, I echo this - $60 to $65 a barrel - until then, they're probably going to be very budget conscious - unless it is a position of critical shortage.

Dress nice for the interview. Make sure your clothes and shoes match. For example, if you wear a blue suit, wear blue shoes.

Shell makes a profit on oil much lower than that. More like 25 or less.

Sorry to hear that. Which location?
And it's laid off.
