Been listening to this and it's very interesting. Haven't formed my own conviction yet but would love to discuss with other people. Please post your thoughts!

The most likely story is probably the correct one. Adnan killed Hae because he was jealous that she had moved on to Don. Jay knew about it and was probably there when it happened. He told Jen as much. Both Jen and Jay tried to minimize their involvement initially, which accounts for the bulk of the discrepancies. Jay was afraid of being an accessory to murder, so creates a story wherein Adnan confides in him. Jen is afraid of being an accessory after the fact, so she lawyers up and supports Jay's story.

Someone that Jay told about the crime placed the anonymous call and maybe sent Mr. S out looking for Hae's body.

Jay's "pathetic" according to Adnan in the courtroom because he's ratting Adnan out. However, he's so married to his innocence story that he can't contradict Jay's version of the events without directly implicating himself as at least having knowledge of a situation that he's sworn he knows nothing about.

Is that enough to convict him, though? Different issue altogether. Are my doubts considering Jay's story reasonable? I just don't see any motive for Jay to kill Hae absent involvement by Adnan. So I think the dots are there for the jury.

This.

I would be OK with him getting released though. The case against him was pretty weak IMO.

"Court of law" guilty? Probably not
"Did he kill her" guilty? Absolutely

I still can't tell if he is guilty or not...I'm leaning towards him being innocent...

I do think Jay was involved and does know what happened....Who he is trying to cover it up for?? I don't know..

Was there enough evidence to convict?? frick no.

In the month or so since Serial ended, there really are only two options:

1. Adnan is guilty.

2. Adnan is innocent but the cops were sure he was their guy and fed Jay stuff to use to make sure Adnan went down.

I say this because Jay knew where Hae's car was ditched and as long as that is true, it takes third party perps off the table. The only way Adnan is innocent is if Jay actually didn't know where the car was and the cops told Jay where it was located and to plug the car into his Adnan story. That's the only way Adnan is injocent: dirty cops.

That still leaves you wondering why Jay would go along with a framing if he and Adnan had nothing at all to do with Hae's murder. It takes a lot of work to make Adnan innocent. Lots of work.

Occam's Razor leads to Adnan being guilty.

This. Well maybe not "absolutely", but "likely".

Also, what about the crazy person who had killed before that wasn't considered? The one from the last episode.

not sure if he is guilty or not, but based on the evidence I don't think he should have gotten life in prison

It still blows my mind that Adnan is currently surviving a life sentence & Jay walked away from this incident with no punishment.

Or, Jay set up Adnan to cover for the actual killer.

Not so sure about your #2. I just feel like it's almost necessary that Jay knows who killed Hae. That day unfolded a little too inconveniently for Adnan. I think either he killed her or he was set up by Jay and the killer.
