Would it be the least watched championship in the history of professional sports?

Don't the Finals draw more of an audience than the World Series nowadays?

I'd imagine Phillies/Rays was awful.

I think if people gave it a shot it would be one of the best finals in recent memory. Especially when Ray Allen signs with Atlanta.

Steph Curry is becoming super popular. He was 2nd in All-star voting to LeBron when they released the latest tallies.

Atlanta is still a huge market and the bandwagon would likely follow if they made the finals.

The possible Grizzlies/Pacers finals we almost had 2 years ago would have been a ratings disaster.

I don't know. That Spurs-Pistons 05 series wasn't watched by many people. IIRC it scored about an 8.1 or something abysmal like that.

ETA: Forgot about that Spurs Nets one in 03 . That one was definitely worse than Pistons Spurs

Not commenting on the quality of the matchup, I'm sure it would be good.

But only diehard fans would care.

if that happens, shame on NBA fans

The Warriors are a fricking blast to watch

Id rather see them go in dry on Lebon and the Cavs though

2010, 2011, 2013.

There's 2 great ones and one good one just in the last 5 years.

The ratings might be lower than normal but I would watch the hell out of that Finals. The 2 best teams in the league (certainly by far & away at this point) is always high-quality entertainment.

Warriors in 6.

Well considering Atlanta has high ratings for the Finals every year, I'd say no. If the Hawks make it those numbers will skyrocket

I'm not a huge NBA fan until the playoffs or if I can catch a Pels game

Having said that I try to watch the Warriors as much as I can, they are fun as hell to watch.

ATL and SF viewership would obviously be great. With that said, I can't see it grabbing the country like a team with Lebron would.

On a side note, if people gave this series a shot I think most would think the style of basketball is much more entertaining than the alternative. If you can't enjoy Korver pulling up for a fast break 3 than basketball isn't for you.
