The Bourne Legacy question
Posted by LSUsmartass on 1/21/15 at 6:25 pm00
Toward the beginning of the movie, why did Jeremy Renner's character lie about how and why he got there so fast? Also, why did he lie about losing his meds and lie about not taking a blue pill in 36 hours? They sort of just dropped thus and never touched on why unless I missed something?

I guess he knew that everything in the program was so strictly regimented and was worried if he violated protocol he would be kicked out.
Like he mentioned later, it's a big drop from being superhuman to going back to being IED fodder with a 75 IQ.

Those guys are basically addicted\reliant on those pills. Probably just wanted extra just in case. At the time he was being punished for disobeying orders so he might be scared of being punished further by withholding his meds

Yeah the hoarding angle makes sense, did he get there so quickly as a cover for stashing his pills?

He lies because he's afraid he'll run out and go back to the ordinary person he was before the pills.

And I think he lies about the trek because he cheated the route and best the fastest time by a lot.

He doesn't really lie about his path. Says he went over the mountain instead of around and then says he lost his pills while being chased by wolves. If I remember correctly, he really did get chased by wolves. Just lied about losing the pills.
