this saturday my wife and i will be spending the day. we're going to cafe du monde for beignets. then going to the french market, and grabbing a drink from jimmy buffets. where would i find a jazz club open before lunch? also recommend a restaurant for a late lunch, early dinner. i had planned on going to grand isle restaurant, but after reviews and opinions from the f&d board i changed my mind. tia

eta.it doesn't have to be in the quarter.

Maison Bourbon has decent enough jazz. And I'd skip Buffet's... I'd go to Sylvain for a glass of wine or martinis.

If you're hungry and still near CDM, grab a Muffelotta from Frank's on Decatur

Mr B's Bistro : 201 Royal. Prices are very reasonable. Ask to sit where a few Presidents have before.

And, 3 blocks up Royal is Martin Lawrence Gallery with very entertaining Deyber Collection.
