I like them pretty much anyway but plain with butter, salt, pepper and a good chicken or roast gravy over them is hard to beat.

Add to your garlic, gruyere or smoked gouda cheese or chives, green onions, sautéed mushrooms etc...

a good hamburger steak with sautéed onions and mushrooms with a side of mashed potatoes. Good stuff and Georges does this very well.

I like them better than regular, but really I prefer potatoes not mushed to hell in general.

Give me garlic and seasoned roasted potatoes over mashed potatoes ANY day.

I prefer my mashed potatoes lumpy rather than very smooth

I like this. It's only in the mashed version I prefer the regular.

I'd rather have rice than mashed potatoes any day where gravy is involved. I'm not a big mashed fan, though.

If ever in San Francisco or LA, try the Stinking Rose, it's a garlic-centric restaurant.
Great for the garlic lover, though after eating there, I smelled "Italian" for three days.

You must roast the garlic then mash into a spread. Butter salt pepper and a little milk. Awesome !!!!

I'll do that, eat it on a crostini, and love it.

But I'm not big on the garlic mixed into potatoes. I'd rather keep them simple.

I like to mix a little mascarpone and some fresh rosemary in mine.

And, yes, lumpy !

Lumpy for me with a little roasted garlic, some butter and a touch of chives

Who am I trying to fool?

Make mine Tater Tots please, lightly salted and hold the ketchup.
