You guys are crazy if you think that Marrone would still make that decision knowing what he knows now.

Buffalo is poised to be a division contender next season, especially if New England gets hammered from deflategate and/or has Super Bowl Champion hangover.

As long as Belichick and Brady are at the helm of the Patriots, no. The Bills have to make due with EJ Manuel. They aren't contending for shite with Manuel at QB.

I will pretend I know the answer to this one.

Doug Marrone's wife did not like being in Buffalo. Stuck inside on snow days. driving on snow. wearing three layers. having to bundle the kids up.

She said, "get a job in Florida or get a new wife".

he still gets the 4 million.

Cutler, Foles, Locker, Sanchez, potential draft pick.

Plenty of options to upgrade QB.

You're calling them a contender with the assumption that they trade for a QB? That's quite the assumption.

1. Cutler: What's their cap situation like? Can they afford Cutler?

2. Foles: How would they acquire Foles? Bills are one draft spot ahead of the Eagles.

3. Locker:

4. Sanchez:

5. Draft pick: Not overtaking the Patriots with a rookie QB. :

I am glad I am not the only one that sees that. What makes Marrone think he is Bobby Petrino, who has a proven record, and just can hightail it out of town like everyone will drool all over him? He hasn't done jack shite. He quit because he didn't have a QB for next year. Nothing more. Plus, you never make a career move without an inkling of a placement or job offer. He thought his season at Buffalo will get him a job offer. Well shite, Jacksonville here I come to be an OL coach.

to .....Moron. He just up and quit Buffalo while taking 4 million thinking he will be a hot commodity and lands a job as OL coach for (drumroll)......Jacksonville Jaguars. If you are going to make like this and take the house money, make sure you have an offer lined up first. It serves Marrone right for his arrogance.

Not really. The guy was probably going to be fired without a huge year next year just because the new owners would want their own coach.

So, he gets the money, and he will be paid this year...AND, he'll be in the same spot heading into next year that he most likely would have been anyway.

Link? Proof? Anything other than your speculation?

You have no idea about his relationship with upper management or his NEW owner. No idea if their long term strategic plan was completely at odds with his. No idea on upper managements level of commitment to EJ Manual. No idea on their management philosophy or expectations for Marrone. You have no idea!

You just assume b/c a relative unknown willingly leaves an elite position that he's an idiot. Life is not that black and white.

Do you guys even watch football? Buffalo has the best D-line in football next year after Suh leaves Detroit. They are young and have cap room. They have a fantastic home field advantage.

They absolutely shut down the best team in the NFC (Green Bay) in an important game for the Packers and won going away.

They were a top 6 team in the AFC during the final 4 weeks of the season.
