FYI - I had something shipped to me via USPS from the BVI last year and it was like $70. They use a company that took the item to St John, where it became part of the USPS.

They are sold out before mardi gras.
I guess I will have to make my own

Maybe some place in Lafayette does it or that place in MS that a lot of people like. I can't recall the name. ETA: I think it's Paul's.

I just checked and they can ship. Any flavor suggestions, I was thinking chocolate over cream cheese?

Man, just make one yourself. At least give it a try before you have one shipped to the caribbean.

I probably going to just make it myself, but I wanted to look into having some shipped to see what it would cost. Geez

Pauls? Good deal. Glad you found a place. I haven't had their cakes, but others here have. I know someone in particular recommends them.
Chocolate over cream cheese should be good if the recipient likes those flavors. Not what I would order, but I prefer praline type fillings or maybe a blueberry and cream cheese if I'm going for fruit. Plain cream cheese or Bavarian cream is also fine with me.

Thanks for the rec, but the shipping was going to be more than the cakes. It was for a mardi gras party, but it looks like I am just going to be baking one myself. It should be interesting.

Shipping is high. You could buy a cake and ship it yourself. Still going to be high if you want it there fresh

Haydel's will do it. I've shipped internationally before. I'll be doing some more in the coming week or so as well.

I live in the caribbean I was looking at shipping some down here for a CMDA party on mardi gras. Looks like I am making the gals bake a couple.
