Post here to vent your pain on energy stocks, the bullets you dodged, and where you are buyin now.

Pain: EXXI @ $8, HK @2.25

Dodged: Sold REXX @ $20 (bought @ $16, LNCO @ $31 (bought at $28), didn't pile back into LNCO last week.

Own: HK, EXXI

Buying: MHR

Considering: LNCO

I fuggin bought HK at $6.12 months ago. FML.

I'm holding my 320 shares because if I sold now....what's $300??!

At least there is a chance for an upturn. It IS up +9% or so today

It is the smallest now, but was it the smallest when you bought in?

I also dodged the SDRL bullet. I forgot about that one because it was about a 3 day hold.

Smallest when I bought it. Now it is by far the smallest I knew it was a risk so I didn't want to to expose myself since I was just starting developing a stock portfolio

Sorry guys I know it sucks to take a beating.

I took a rough hit the beginning of this year in S&P futures because of poor risk management.

I'm not picking on you with this statement Shep...

Averaging down is never a good thing IMO. I always use CSCO as an example of averaging down being a gamble. It topped out at 73 in 2000 and now sits at 28 (with a high of 30 in 2008. There are no guarantee's a stock will bounce back to new highs.

SDRL @ $25. I've owned it forever too. So I went from being up quite a bit to down quite a bit very quickly. That's what I get for not paying attention to my portfolio.

NBR: $18, $15, $10 - wish I would have sold at $30

GLNG: $18, $35 - wish I would have sold at $70

SN: $19 - bought this when oil was around $80.. bad timing..

This- Bought in at $33, rode it up to $50, then kept waiting for it to stop falling- I waited too long, and now it's hardly worth selling. I'm buying more shares while it's down, and waiting for dividends to kick back in. It may not hit $50 again, but it should bounce back eventually.

Same. VNR is killing me. Luckily it's one of my smaller positions.
