Article says he's going to jail for several months. 20k could easily provide for his kids/sig other for groceries/gas/clothing for quite awhile if budgeted. I get maybe gambling for more, but to give it back for free at a time when you have obviously failed at your duties as a father/provider is inexcusable IMO.

This would be my strategy. You can't expect the average fan with a mortgage/kids/whatever to hand something of value away.

Your first duty is to your family, not some multimillion dollar athlete.

Yup. A real idiot. Probably an indicator of why he's in jail in the first place
