Play Earthbound Zero next, then Mother 3. Mother 3 is a great game too, but very depressing.

I played zero first, but definitely plan to play the third one after I get through earthbound!

I've played a little of both but I never finished them. For whatever reason I have a hard time getting into games that I'm playing via emulator. Maybe if I got some USB controllers that resembled NES and SNES game pads I could do it but I'm not sure.

It may help, but I have some of the replica controllers and it's really not the same. There are timing issues, graphical and sound issues, etc.

Technically Virtual Console on Wii/Wii U is really just emulation also, but its almost impossible to tell the difference because Nintendo spends a lot of time fine tuning each game for their hardware and controllers. PC emulators are more of just a general application.

Get a SNES Everdrive, it's totally worth it and the best emulation experience that there is. The pic is just one of many available examples.
