The 1970's were Shitty for the NBA in general and MLB uniforms.

College basketball sucks so bad, the vast majority of people don't give a shite about it until the tournament, and rightfully so.

The NBA has been mediocre at best since Jordan's retirement.

BOTH of Walton's titles came after the merger.

Yeah, one was in 1986 when he was a deep rotation guy for the celtics and the other was in the first finals post-merger when 5 of the 10 starters were ABA refugees including both teams' leading scorer. But you're right, bad example, though he is sort of the poster boy for how crappy the NBA was in the 70s. The previous year's Finals was between the Celtics and the Suns. The leading scorer for each team, respectively was JoJo White and Alvan Adams. Bob McAdoo was the 3 time scoring champ pre-merger. I mean, he's not awful, but when he's the league's best player... wow (ok, it was probably Kareem). 1970s NBA was awful.

Nothing in the NBA counts before Bird and Magic showed up. Nothing.

yes, IMO the NFL product is at the lowest point in 20-25 years, due to items you referenced

MLB--90s: It was fun at the time, but steroids turned the game into a mockery

I would agree, then you factor in they didn't have a World Series in '94

NBA-
Baloo is right

McAdoo was the Kevin Durant of his day, and Walton was one of the best when he was healthy, which admittedly wasn't often.

it's amazing what has happened to college basketball. I still consider the first weekend of the ncaa tournament the greatest event in sports, but as a whole, college bball has fallen off a cliff.

mlb is garbage now too. it wasn't only chicks that dig the longball, guys want to see that shite too, baseball was so much better in the 90s.

I enjoyed baseball much more in the 80's and 90's than I do now.

I don't care if anyone does roids. I like watching athletic feats.

NFL - 2010s. The hyper legalistic interpretation of the rulebook is really sapping my joy for the game. Every game is more akin to a legal treatise than football, and the rules protecting offense have tilted the scales to an absurd degree.

I don't disagree with your overall sentiment, but I believe the Seahawks in their second straight Superbowl puts a dent in your offensive complaint. The new rules separate the fluff - I'm looking at you New Orleans - from the truly talented defenses like Seattle and Arizona.

Baseball - the last 10 years

It's been awesome the last 10 years.

No Yankees domination. Lots of teams in the mix.

Did you watch the playoffs in October?- some of the best baseball I've ever seen.

I agree with the 90's being the worst decade- definitely in my lifetime. The first 3 things that come to mind are: strike, steroids, and Yankees.

Agreed.

Right NOW is the worst college basketball has been in my lifetime.

Aside from their own team, like you said- most people don't watch til the NCAA tourney.

college football--80s: The great dynasties and coaches of the 60s and 70s faded away, and the power vacuum was filled by some lousy champions (Clemson, BYU), and the emergence of "The U" (which I know some people enjoy

I think the 80's was way beter than the 90's. You still had cross-section rivalries and it was a better brand of football than the 90's. The bowls meant more in the 80's as well....
