I honestly never saw the day when I would be discussing pipe drops on the OB

I know, but I'm always trying to see how much time it would take vs money.

I will probably end up rigging one up myself.

Very flat and very small. No more than a couple of acres.

Basically, it's a woody hole that only holds water on "wet" years. Because it dries, it's grown up in tallows the last 15 or 20 years. In amoungst the tallows are a couple of nice 15 to 20 year old oaks dropping acorns in it now. It's just too thick even for woodies. I'm going to have everything but the oaks pushed out of it and add a control structure and small levee to help catch water. It's right on a creek I watch wood ducks fly up and down from my deer stand.

We used to shoot wood ducks out of it as kids, but its just grown up since the last time the place was clear cut in the 90's.

We have a 12" pvc pipe with a tee and a clean out at the end. When you want to drain unscrew the clean out. You can add whatever length of pipe you need in the top of your tee.

Call the guy in Eunice. As someone who has shopped for these things recently, his prices can't be beat. He'll make it whatever size you need.


And let me know if you get caught without a permit for your dozer in the swamp.

I've seen those. The LSU rice farm down Ben Hur uses this. My problem is a concern for tresspassers fricking with something that easy, and draining my pond just to be a dick. At least the drain boards have to be cut out once the swell up.
