Tennessee, Auburn, UGA, UF, and Bama have had top 15, top 10, and top 5 classes for years now.

Now I do agree that TAMU coming to the SEC and having immediate success has had an effect on recruiting battles between us. Freeze has also made a decent haul the last couple of years, and MSU has had one great year on the field, which aided them on the recruiting trail.

Also you have to take into effect of all these Texas schools like TCU and Baylor who are getting better on the field which is improving their recruiting as well. We need this level of staff just to fend off all the new threats to Louisiana recruits.

IMO though, as long as we can send guys to the NFL and they perform well, we'll still get a few top recruits in Texas and beyond. Also it wouldn't hurt to make the playoffs at least once the next 3 years.

Auburn now has 2 of the top 5 recruiters

I think if we finish within the top 10 it'd be a pretty good class considering how slow we started. I think O and Steele show their worth with the 16 class and that'll be a big year for us especially with the amount of Dl talent there is.

Disagree

It's one reason we were willing to let Chavis go.

Then you should love some of the stuff that Miles does during games.

I think you meant "parity".

Disagree with which part? Recruiting is a zero sum game. If Auburn gets a recruit, LSU doesn't get that recruit. In fact, a recruiting monopoly would be the best case scenario ala Bear Bryant in the 60s.

You don't want anyone on your team that is scared of competition.

well yeah. There all getting about equal. All SEC teams have impresive classes. Therfore the COACHING staff has to be the ones to make the difference between elite and not-so-much. So where does that put LSU :dunno but I see gameday/gameplan coaching and player development as the major reasoning LSU has been 1 tier behind lately.
