Xbox, cable box, receiver connection

Trying to connect Xbox through my receiver, but cannot get any audio or video from receiver. Have watched every video available and nothing works. Any ideas?

May not work with HdMI, try the RCA cables

That's a know prob with DirecTV, and the reason why I don't have them connected now.

When you say xbox, do mean xbox original, xbox 360 or xbox 1?

xbox one certainly as it's the only on that has HDMI passthrough.
