I know we currently have The Gillis Silo but other than them have we ever had a good, local country band?

You linked a Beattles song to River City Good Time Band?

Hans Van Brackle, who was in US Times, had a traditional country band in the mid 80's. I can't remember their name but they were pretty good.

Isn't The Band Perry from BR? Not that I'm calling them legit...

Who is the River City band that was mentioned? The link in that post is the Beattles.

Look up the album Louisiana State Line by Hipboot Joe. CJ Solar is from here. Breaux Bridge has Hunter Hayes.

Ryan Harris
Jodi James
Clay Parker
Polly Pry
Denton Hatcher
The Humble Kind
Palmyra
Jason Martin (sometimes)

Jodi, Clay and Denton are definitely the more traditional artists.

Forgot about Eric Schmidt. Put him in the traditional camp as well

Ryan Harris is awful.

And CWK, for the record, I didn't say The Gillis Silo was a legit, local country band.

One of the best songwriters in town.

His performances leave something to be desired I'll admit that.

I'll agree that he's a good writer. And yes, his live performances need work.

Mea Culpa - RCGTB Reunion

Sorry, couldn't find any youtube of them actually performing but they were quite popular in the late 70's-early 80's.
