Is golf in Hawaii easier than most places?

Maybe because the conditions are almost always perfect? Whenever the Tour is in Hawaii the scores are always super low. It looks like the winner today will be pushing -20, two years ago Russell Henley won at -24!

Conditions there can get pretty hairy with the wind, but the courses are easier. Most of the courses they play there are tourist or resort courses.

Resort courses.

But I also don't believe golf channel was right the other day. An 18 hole course that does 500 rounds a day sometimes. That's pretty much impossible. At 6min intervals it's 10 an hour. If they tee 7-4 and have all 5 somes that's only 450.

That's what I'm essentially asking. I've never been to Hawaii but I'm guessing the courses are resort courses designed for people on vacation so they make them easier?

The course right on side the town they showed during the broadcast. They said it was once the busiest course in the Country.

They probably have more than 18 holes, I bet they have 2-3 courses and they were combining them to get that number

Sunrise in Honolulu in July is 5:53am and sunset is 7:18 with more twilight following ending around 8:15.

That's 14 hours of golf.

500/4 = 125 foursomes

14 x 60 = 840 playable minutes

840/125 = 6.72 minutes between tee-times for 500 rounds in a day.

They can't tee off at sunset. With Twilight you can probably say 6-6 at best.

Depends on the wind I would guess. I've never been but my dad has played 5 or 6 courses over there including the plantation course at Kapulua.

He was about a 10 handicap at the time and had a few mid 70's scores but shot in the 90's when it was windy.

Years ago before a bad back forced me to quit playing, I was fortunate to play rounds on both Oahu & Maui on numerous occasions. The resort courses for the most part were user friendly. I was able to play a couple of private clubs on both islands that were a lot tougher. A lot depended on the weather conditions, particularly the wind.

The Guinness Book of World Records lists this as the busiest golf course in the world; some 500
rounds a day are played on this 18-hole municipal course within walking distance of Waikiki's
For years, many have held off recommending this par-70, 6,020-yard course because it was so
of Oahu's municipal courses will allow you to book 7 days in advance, but keep trying.

It's easier to get mugged, kidnapped, and robbed.
