I shot a grey yesterday and couldn't find it after looking for a long time. I went back this morning with a buddy who brought his dog, and the dog found the duck. It's been in the mid thirties since the duck was shot. Would you still eat it?

That's what I was thinking, figured I'd run it by the OB first. Thanks.

If it's that cold it's essentially been in the fridge. Still good.

If really worried, just breast it.

Yes.

If worried research the preferred method for cleaning ducks about 60 years ago, pull guts and let hang by a leg. When the leg fell off time to eat duck. You have no worries IMO.

I used to run a boat out of pacan island. On my way to work (from laffy), I'd look for road kill. On my way home I'd pick up gators that I didn't see in the AM. Nothing like fresh gator road kill.
