Anybody watch this yet? Phenomenal...I am willing to go full retard and claim this was one of the best pilots I have ever seen.

Adapted from Philip K. Dick's novel...explores what may have happened had the Axis Powers won WWII, divided up and ruled the United States.

They're going to have to deviate quite a bit (I suspect) from the source material, but regardless - it is a great framework, a great book and a great concept. Plus - Hollywood loves them some Dick (Philp K. Dick, that is - ).

I watched this and the some of the other pilots, Down Dog, Salem Rogers, and Point of Honor.

The Man in the High Castle was the only one I thought was really any good. I was disappointed, because the last time Amazon put out a bunch of pilots, several were very good.

Awesome pilot. I'm just pissed that we don't know if they will continue with it.

That's the downside...but, I can't see them not continuing with it. The level of detail was amazing...you can tell they went all-in on this one.

I believe this is the one that will be picked up. All of the other pilots are being panned or have received mixed reviews. This, on the other hand, is being damn near universally praised

It's getting really good reviews. I would be shocked if it's not picked up. This is a sibject that would make a great TV show. I've always been a fan of alt-history. Would be neat to see this book on screen.

Possible hijack alert!

I want to watch this now and I have Amazon Prime but I have never used it to watch a movie before.

It is telling me I have to "Install Silverlight."
Is this legit?

ETA: Installed Siverlight and watched the show.
It was OK.

I watched this today and was very impressed. I am a big fan of the works of Philip K. Dick and The Man in the High Castle is certainly among his very best. The set-up of the world of the novel in the pilot is really well done and I could easily see a very intriguing television series coming from it. Hopefully it will be picked up because the pilot absolutely left me wanting more.

The book has been on my list for a while--going to watch the pilot and hopefully have time for the book before more episodes come out

Basically another version of Fatherland then, yes?

FWIW - the novel Fatherland was much better than the 1994 HBO movie version (starring Rutger Hauer).

Is that the one where Hitler has a withered hand? I remember seeing a few minutes of that (or something) when I was a kid and all I remember is Hitler at a podium hiding his hand in his coat.

Just watched the pilot. Pretty good and clearly going to deviate from the book, but looks to be heading in a very interesting direction with Ridley Scott at the helm. The rest of the pilots look shitty with the exception of the civil war one which it is far outpacing in views and ratings. I would recommend everyone that can take a look at it and it rate it well so we can at least see where it goes.
