I understand this one isn't your priority but Cuse fans are really excited to have you coming to town. I'm in Atlanta and my wife is a Tiger so this one will be fun for us. She rolls her eyes when I continually brag that we actually won last time we played!

Not sure it'll be next year, but we still hold out hope we can get back to the quality teams of the 80s/90s when cuse was always packed with guys like McNabb, Harrison, freeney, etc.

If you're looking for info on our team or the town (LOTS of fantastic stuff to do there in sept), syracusefan.com is the place to go.

Check out the below for just about everything you need. If I was to pick a couple key recommendations (beyond seeing the campus and Marshall St area), I'd say:
-eat at dinosaur BBQ
-drink in armory square
-visit skaneateles (finger lakes, wineries, etc)
-if you have time for a real day trip, go to Cooperstown

LINK

The crew at syracusefan always has stuff going on for gameday and loves it when visitors stop by, so don't be shy.

"Garbage" plate! Get it at Nick Tahou's. Rochester is nice. Definitely hipper and artsier than Cuse. Very pretty and lots to do. Go hang out on a Great Lake!

Where would you recommend staying for close access to good drinking areas?

Check out the linked guide above for lots more details, but generally speaking, walking proximity to Armory Square will have you in a perfect spot. The couple hotels right off campus will serve the purpose, too, but those bars cater to the kids so wouldn't be my first choice.

Thanks for the info!

I'm looking forward to driving up to the game from here in Cleveland and hanging out with Roy and the pep band. I'm kinda stoked to see a game in the Carrier Dome. One more place I can check off my list.

We are making a vacation out of it. Goin to NYC for a few days, heading to Syracuse Friday morning, then Cooperstown on Sunday.

My hotels are booked for cheap in Syracuse. Need to plan rest of trip. Not sure if we'll use train over from NYC or come in from Niagra, but either way we'll make an extended trip out of it.

I wish LSU scheduled more road games like this. Was bummed when Colorado game got tossed. A road trip to NYC, Chicago, Vegas or San Diego would be awesome too.

This is the way it was meant to be. The neutral site games suck and need to end. I'm really looking forward to the Wisconsin game in 2016. I wish it was at Camp Randall, but Lambeau isn't a place. Some great memories were made on the trips to Blacksburg, Seattle, and Morgantown.
